Private Garden – Vigoulet-Auzil – France – 2023 – work in progress
Located on the hillsides of the Lauragais, the house and garden open onto a wide horizon with sweeping views reaching all the way to the Pyrenees. The project is structured around the site’s distinctive topography, organizing the various spaces while addressing the area’s renovation needs.
A fence, bordered by planted beds, shapes the landscape, highlights the natural contours of the slope, and ensures the safety of the swimming pool. Below, a large mixed meadow gently follows the incline of the embankment, while the lowest part of the property is newly reforested.
All terraces, stairways, pathways and retaining walls have been redesigned to create a greater sense of coherence and to introduce warmer, more welcoming materials. Naturalistic planting beds connect and harmonize the different areas of the garden.
The entire project is conceived to suit the daily life of a family with young children, balancing aesthetics, functionality, and respect for the site.
