A Mediterranean Terrace – Béziers – France

This private terrace offers a panoramic view above the roofs of the old city of Béziers (Languedoc-Roussillon). The view looks out onto the Canal du Midi, the guarrigue landscape and the Pyrénées in the distance. A large planter has been built against the balustrade wall in order to optimize the space; the multilevel compartments of the planter are designed to recreate the dynamic of a garrigue scene. The construction is in wood to absorb the heat of the south exposure. A pergola in wrought iron imitating a climbing plant is inspired by the Art Nouveau decoration of the appartement.
