Private Garden – Laurens – France – 2022
Inspired by the landscapes of the Faugères region, the project converts an agricultural plot into a Mediterranean garden. The recess providing access to the garden via the south-facing facade creates a comfortable alcove-shaped living room, dining room and summer kitchen. The low stone wall extends to support a counter-current swimming pool linked to the garrigue by large natural stone slabs. Young holm oaks are planted in a tight grove to recreate, over the long term, the subdued light of the undergrowth found on the Carabelles Trail in Faugères.
Garden designed without an automatic watering system.
Landscaping work carried out by Vincent Lamur.
Ironwork: Alain Lauquet
Ceramics: Yolande Flagothier (@yolandewielandts)
Plant supply: Pépinière Filippi, Senteurs du Quercy, La Paysagerie-Béziers (large plants)
