Private Garden – Nizas – France – 2022
Designed as a garrigue setting in the heart of the Languedoc village of Nizas, this garden project completes and finalises the renovation work undertaken on the former winegrower’s house.
Crowned by the crowns of the jujube and fig trees, the naturally contoured flowerbeds cover the orthogonal layout of the terraces and swimming pool. The plants spread out like cushions, sometimes overflowing the frame and merging to form a tapestry with an evolving pattern. They introduce softness and spontaneity into the design. The contrasting heights, textures and colours help to make the different spaces clearer. The Mediterranean palette affirms the authentic charm of the site. The garden has been designed according to the principles of gardening without water.
Work carried out by Vincent Lamur.
Plants supplied by Pépinière Filippi, Senteurs du Quercy and Pépinière Montimas.
