Private Garden – Tarn – France

To the north of the Montagne Noire, the garden rises in terraces above the ruins of an old farmhouse.
Set against the wooded hillside, the garden is home to lush vegetation structured by spontaneous sowings of ferns, boxwood and wild flowers. The deep, humus-laden soils are home to a collection of English roses, while the stony ground acclimatises Mediterranean vegetation.
A rainwater recovery system helps to compensate for recurring summer droughts.
